Rauf Aregbesola, the former Minister of Interior, revealed on Saturday his intention to dedicate more of his time to politics.

He announced his plans to embark on a statewide tour aimed at raising awareness among the people of the state.

Acknowledging the efforts of the state government in ensuring the safety of the state, Aregbesola also expressed his appreciation. He noted that the conducive environment created by the government has fostered social interactions among the residents of the state.

Aregbesola made these remarks during a grand luncheon held in his honor in Osogbo. He highlighted that all the activities organized to welcome him back to the state, following the completion of his tenure as a minister, were carried out peacefully.

He said, “Osun State Government, we belong to a different party to the one controlling the government presently. They are in the PDP and we belong to the APC. But they were not scared to allow us to hold our events.

“They received us with love and joy. No problem whatsoever. No firing of gunshots. We were not subjected to any form of intimidation. We appreciate the state government.

“Now, I am back to full politics. I will devote more time to politics. We will start moving around our communities to sensitise our people.”

During the event, Dr. Najeem Salaam, the Chairman of the Planning Committee for the programme and a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, took the opportunity to praise Aregbesola’s exceptional leadership qualities. In his speech, Dr. Salaam expressed admiration for Aregbesola’s abilities in guiding and managing affairs effectively.
