In Abuja on Monday, it was announced that a total of 160 Nigerian youths have been awarded a $1.2 million grant from the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF) to support various projects throughout Nigeria.

Jamila Ibrahim, the Minister of Youth Development, revealed this information during the unveiling ceremony for the grant recipients. She highlighted that the funding amount has significantly increased compared to last year’s disbursement of $600,000 to 130 recipients. This increase reflects the growing commitment of stakeholders towards empowering the youth.

Ibrahim emphasized that President Bola Tinubu has consistently stressed the crucial role of Nigerian youth in driving the nation’s economy. She further stated that the expansion of this year’s grant signifies more than just numerical growth.

“The fund serves as a tangible demonstration of that commitment, acting as a bridge between the aspirations of our youth and the supportive policies and resources needed to bring those aspirations to life,” Ibrahim explained.

She described the grant as a bold initiative to stimulate a wave of change, encouraging young Nigerian citizens to actively participate in shaping the future they envision. Ibrahim also emphasized that the fund aims to close the gap between the ambitions of Nigerian youth and the resources necessary to transform those ambitions into reality.
