Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has given his approval for the appointment of Mr Bukar Abubakar as the new Rector of Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri.
A statement released by Mallam Isa Gusau, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, revealed that Mr Abubakar, who has been serving as the Deputy Rector, Administration, at the polytechnic, has a commendable track record within the institution.
The statement further detailed Abubakar’s extensive experience within the polytechnic, including his tenure as the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Acting Director of the School of Engineering, Principal Lecturer, Deputy Rector in charge of Administration, Chairman of the Staff Development Committee, and Chief Lecturer.
It was also highlighted that Mr Abubakar has a substantial body of published and unpublished research work in academic journals, with nearly 40 published research works.
Additionally, he is a member of several professional bodies in the field of engineering and technical education, including the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Nigeria Association of Vocational and Technical Educators, International Association of Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
