Zaria Plagued by Hardship as Hoodlums Ransack Truckload of Spaghetti

A group of hoodlums launched an attack on a BUA truck filled with cartons of spaghetti at the Dogarawa area along the Zaria-Kano expressway. The incident took place around 3:15 pm and resulted in the complete looting of the spaghetti cargo.

According to a witness, the truck driver had parked by the roadside to observe prayers when the hoodlums suddenly struck, seizing the opportunity to steal all the cartons of spaghetti. They swiftly fled the scene, leaving no trace behind.

This incident occurred just a week after another attack in the Suleja area of Niger State, where criminals hijacked trailers loaded with food supplies, including bags of rice. These incidents highlight the prevailing hardship faced by many people in the country.

Eyewitnesses reported that a police team deployed to the scene managed to apprehend five suspects believed to be connected to the crime.

The witness expressed deep regret, describing the incident as unfortunate and unprecedented in the area where they have been trading for over 10 years.

“The hoodlums took every single carton of spaghetti from the truck,” added the source, emphasizing the extent of the looting.
