Yul Edochie, who transitioned from acting to becoming a pastor, has responded to Nigeria’s recent loss in the AFCON tournament.
Taking to Instagram, he expressed his continued pride in Nigeria, regardless of the outcome. It is worth noting that Yul Edochie had previously stated on Instagram that Nigeria would emerge as the winners, attributing it to a divine prophecy.
Following Nigeria’s loss, social media users have criticised him and questioned his spiritual abilities. Actress Sarah Martins specifically criticised him, stating that she already knew Nigeria would lose when he had “prophesied” their victory.
She also hinted that this was an opportunity for Yul Edochie to demonstrate that he truly received a calling from God. Regrettably, he was unable to do so. Yul Edochie’s Instagram post reads,
“it is well. Thank you Super Eagles. Getting to the finals is as good as winning. We are proud of you all. Great performance in the tournament”.
He further stated
“I love my country Nigeria. Win or lose, good or bad, we’ve been here. Better days ahead. Giant of Africa.”
