White House announces Israeli agreement to a 4-hour military 'ceasefire' in Gaza

In a significant development following the intense war between the Israeli military and Hamas militants, Israel has agreed to introduce four-hour pauses in the fighting each day in the northern Gaza strip, according to the White House.

John Kirby, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, announced that the Israeli authorities have assured that there will be no military operations in the designated areas during the pause. The process is set to commence on the same day as the announcement.

It is noteworthy that on October 7, 2023, an armed conflict escalated between Israel and Hamas-led Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip, triggered by a multi-pronged invasion of Southern Israel by the latter.

Reports indicate that the war in the Gaza Strip since October 7 has resulted in the deaths of at least 10,812 Palestinians, as per records.
