We can no longer sustain nationwide petrol distribution - say fuel retailers

Oil marketers have expressed their inability to continue the distribution of petroleum products throughout the nation.

This is primarily due to the significant increase in the price of diesel, which these marketers use to fuel their trucks.

Diesel prices have surged to N1,100 per litre in many locations, prompting concerns among the marketers. They are calling on the federal government to urgently intervene to address this situation.

These concerns are being voiced by the Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers’ Association of Nigeria (NOGASA), whose President, Benneth Korie, issued a statement highlighting the persistent price hikes in diesel.

NOGASA is deeply concerned about the situation and is actively seeking to understand why diesel prices have risen so sharply, ranging from N950 to N1,100 per litre in the market. Their aim is to find ways to mitigate these price increases and the resulting economic shocks.
