Update: PDP G-5 Engages in Confidential Discussion with Tinubu

Currently, a closed-door meeting is underway between President Bola Tinubu and a group of prominent politicians consisting of four former governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde. The meeting is taking place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The G-5 governors, as they are known, arrived at the State House at approximately 4:21 pm and immediately proceeded to the President’s office.

Among the attendees, in addition to Seyi Makinde, are Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State. It is worth noting that Wike has visited the State House on three separate occasions within a week.

It is important to recall that during the February 25 presidential election, the G-5 governors, as they were then referred to, actively opposed the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
