During an interview in Abuja, Mr. David Greene, Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Nigeria, reassured visa applicants that the embassy is dedicated to resolving all visa-related issues.

Greene expressed his commitment to putting an end to visa troubles and stated that the embassy is making every effort to address these challenges.

He acknowledged that there is a higher demand for visa appointments than the available supply, but assured that appointments are indeed available and that the embassy is actively working to bridge this gap. Greene shared that over 150,000 Nigerians have been interviewed for visas this year, demonstrating the embassy’s progress in managing the demand.

He also mentioned a significant development in visa policy, stating that as of March, the embassy has implemented a five-year visa term for travel to the United States.

Greene advised individuals planning to visit the United States to apply for visas early and ensure that their visa requests are directly related to specific events or purposes.
