Tinubu Set to Travel to Germany for G20 Compact with Africa

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to depart from Abuja on Saturday for Berlin, Germany, where he will attend the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Conference on November 20, 2023.

The conference will be hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

According to a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Tinubu will join other Heads of State and Government from CwA member countries, bilateral partners, and Heads of International Organizations. They will discuss ways to enhance economic and business cooperation, focusing on boosting investments in critical sectors such as energy, trade, infrastructure, and new technologies.

As a prominent advocate for foreign direct investment in Nigeria, Tinubu’s presence at the conference will further promote investment opportunities in the country. This visit also demonstrates Tinubu’s commitment to diplomatic reciprocity, following Chancellor Scholz’s visit to Abuja and Lagos in October 2023.

Accompanying Tinubu on the trip will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar; the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun; the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite; and the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.
