In the absence of their respective governors, the states of Edo and Niger were represented by their deputy governors.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima and George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), were also present at the meeting. It is worth noting that all the state governors were gathered under the umbrella of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), a platform that fosters collaboration and coordination among the states. Prior to this expanded meeting, President Buhari had already met with the governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as part of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF). The comprehensive meeting on Wednesday began shortly after George Akume was sworn in as the SGF, marking a significant event in the overall proceedings.
