The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has initiated the Aviation Resuscitation Programme aimed at training Cadet Pilots and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
This move, as stated by Mr Freston Akpor, Senior Assistant on Media to the PAP Interim Administrator (IA), is part of the program’s commitment to creating sustainable livelihoods for former agitators and building a skilled workforce for Nigeria’s Aviation Industry. The ceremonial launch of this training took place in Lagos on Monday.
Gen. Barry Ndiomu, the Interim Administrator of PAP, emphasized the significant opportunities available to the beneficiaries in the global aviation sector. While addressing the gathering at the event, he highlighted the past efforts of PAP administrations in revamping the training program.
Ndiomu acknowledged that administrative challenges and the intricate nature of the aviation industry had hindered the program’s success in the past. However, he affirmed that the current PAP leadership was resolute in advancing the lives of former agitators and ensuring the success of the aviation training initiative.
This initiative represents a concerted effort to empower individuals who have been part of the amnesty program and equip them with the skills needed for a prosperous future in the aviation sector.
