FX is cutting loose today with an Atlanta Season 3 trailer that will have you thinking twice about vacationing in Europe. The new season of the hit comedy takes place overseas, with Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), Earn (Donald Glover), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield), and Van (Zazie Beetz) amid a successful European tour. Things are about to get intense as the foursome attempt to “navigate their new surroundings as outsiders, and struggle to adjust to the newfound success they had aspired to.”

“After a four-year absence, we’re graced with the return of Atlanta. Donald Glover and his team have shot the final two seasons of the series,” said FX chairman John Landgraf. “The fourth and final season is slated to debut in the same manner in the fall. The new season is everything you’d expect from Atlanta – which is to say expect the unexpected. Sit back and enjoy the trip.”

In the Atlanta Season 3 trailer, Paper Boi and the crew become overwhelmed by cultural differences, questionable cuisine, and drugs that can twist your mind more than a Burning Man bender. I’ve only been to Europe once, but the culture shock was real, and I didn’t even get the chance to sample their drug-related wares. There’s no telling what Earn and his friends will encounter during their career-making tour, and I’m going to need to get caught up so I can find out.

Atlanta Season 3 is the penultimate season of the series. It was renewed for a third season back in 2018 but was delayed due to Donald Glover’s busy schedule. It was delayed once again when the pandemic shut down productions across the globe, but filming finally got underway this past summer. The third season was shot back-to-back with the fourth season, which means that we shouldn’t have to wait another three years for the final chapters. Atlanta has been a critical darling for FX, scoring over a dozen Emmy nominations for its second season alone. Donald Glover serves as Executive Producer, along with Stephen Glover, Hiro Murai, Stefani Robinson, Paul Simms, and Dianne McGunigle.

Atlanta Season 3 will premiere FX on March 24, 2022.
