Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, has expressed his belief that the Super Eagles’ victory over Angola in the ongoing All African Cup of Nations (AFCON) signifies Nigeria’s ability to overcome all challenges.
In a post on X, Obi congratulated the Super Eagles on their qualification for the semi-finals of AFCON and stated that the team’s triumph would inspire the citizens to conquer obstacles and usher in a new Nigeria.
“It was truly a delightful and uplifting experience for me today as I joined other Nigerians in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to witness the Super Eagles’ live match in the ongoing AFCON tournament, where they secured a place in the semi-finals,” Obi shared.
He commended the team for their display of patriotism and professionalism, emphasizing the energy, passion, and composure they exhibited during the game. Obi believed that the Super Eagles’ victories not only belong to the team but also to the entire nation, demonstrating Nigeria’s resilience in the face of adversity.
Acknowledging the sportsmanship of the Angolan team, Obi praised their performance and congratulated the Super Eagles and Nigeria as a whole.
