Lagos Marathon, David Barmasai Tumo (Kenyan Athlete) Wins 2020 Edition Of The Race: David Barmasai Tumo, a Kenyan athlete, emerged winner of the Lagos marathon Saturday morning.

The race, which is sponsored by Access Bank, commenced in front of the National Stadium, Surulere, and ended at the Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, a 42-km distance. Barmasai completed the 42km race under two hours 30 minutes.

The Third Mainland Bridge, Osborne road, Parkview and Lekki/Ikoyi link bridge were among roads that were closed for the annual activity.

The last edition of the marathon (2019) was won by Sintayehu Legese of Ethiopia. He finished with a time of 2:17:28.

Well-known faces such as former Super-Eagles icon, Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha, also participated in the race.

Tumo will be going home with a grand prize of $50,000.

Also, the first woman to cross the finish line was another Kenyan, Sharon Jemutai Cherop.
