Nigerian actress Lizzy Jay has raised concerns about being targeted with a nude photo blackmail attempt.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, the actress disclosed that she has been receiving calls and messages from an individual claiming to possess her explicit photos.
She revealed that the threats are intended to coerce her into negotiation, but she remains determined not to succumb to their demands.
Lizzy Jay recounted the circumstances surrounding the creation of the said photos. A few months ago, she fell seriously ill and was prescribed antibiotics, which caused adverse reactions. She experienced skin itching, rashes in her private area, and vaginal bleeding.
During this time, she shared pictures and videos of her condition with her doctor, who also happens to be a close friend. The doctor prescribed medication based on the shared visuals.
Now, an individual is using that video to threaten her, sending emails and leaving comments on her social media posts. Lizzy Jay suspects that the individual gained access to the video by hacking her email account, which subsequently granted them access to her Snapchat account, where the video was recorded.
“I have been receiving calls for some days now from someone who claims he has my nudes. The video in his hands was the video I recorded through Snapchat when I had a reaction to a certain medication and I had rashes all over my body including my private part. I couldn’t have a physical examination with my doctor so I made a screenshot of the part I wanted him to see in the video. I sent it and deleted the video immediately. The man trying to blackmail me hacked into one of my email accounts and used it to gain access to my Snapchat. I will be visiting the police PRO to make a formal complaint and give them every details and picture I was able to find connecting to the blackmailer”.
She added in her caption, “For the past few days, I have received calls and messages from someone who claims to have my nudes. The calls and comments on my page are aimed at forcing me to a negotiation table to become a victim of blackmail”.
