Controversial Nigerian artist, Temmie Ovwasa took to microblogging website Twitter to share how she was allegedly abused by her stepfather for six years.

On her Twitter account in the early hours of Friday, April 15, Ovwasa mentioned that the attack ruined her childhood and triggered her childhood depression.

The former Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) singer-songwriter, who now identifies as lesbian and non-binary, revealed her stepfather began abusing her at the tender age of 11 and didn’t quit the act until she went to college at the age of 17.

Speaking through her Twitter platform, Ovwasa wrote;

“I’ve always wanted to tell this story but I’ve been waiting for my mother to die 😂 because I didn’t want her to bear the shame but it’s 2022 angels and in spirit to start my new project where I am Speaking about some of my experiences I’m going to share this to start.”

She Continued:

“I was s3xually abused by my stepfather between the ages of 11 and 17, he fondled me and wrote about it at his dairy, mine mother found.”My first experience of being called mentally unstable after telling a story was with my mother (so stupid internet trolls don’t bother me)”

Ovwasa embarrassed her mother Oluwayemisi Ovwasa in the last part of her narration because she failed to protect her.

The singer explained in a text that she will never forgive her mother for refusing to take action despite being aware of her stepfather’s promiscuity.
