Seyi Law apologizes to those offended by his support for Bola Tinubu

Nigerian comedian, Seyi Law, has addressed the outcome of the recent presidential election in Nigeria, which saw Bola Tinubu emerge as the president-elect for the All Progressives Congress. In an Instagram post, Seyi Law apologized to those who may have been offended by his support for Tinubu, also known as Asiwaju.

He expressed his happiness that Nigerians are passionate about their preferred  candidates, but urged for there to be no bitterness or hatred towards one another, stating that politics should not divide the country. He acknowledged that people may have different opinions, but emphasized that everyone’s opinion is valid and should be respected.

Seyi Law went on to apologize to those who may have been offended by his support for Tinubu and strongly condemned the violence that has been happening across the country. He expressed mixed feelings about the outcome of the election, not because of his candidate’s victory but because of the genuine anger felt by many Nigerians. He concluded by praying for a better Nigeria and for the lives of its citizens to improve.

I express my heartfelt gratitude and say “THANK YOU”
SEYILAW.”

A few hours ago, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared the President-Elect of Nigeria by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, emerged victorious after polling 8,794,726 votes in the 2023 presidential election.
During the early hours of Wednesday, INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, made the announcement at the International Collation Centre in Abuja. Tinubu won the election ahead of other contenders, including Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
The three leading presidential candidates each won in 12 states, while Kwankwaso claimed only Kano State. Tinubu, however, edged out Atiku, his closest challenger, with a margin of no fewer than 1.8 million votes.
This news has generated a lot of reactions from Nigerians and the international community. Many have congratulated Tinubu on his victory, while others have expressed concerns about what his presidency would mean for the country. Nonetheless, the announcement marks the end of a highly contested election and the beginning of a new era for Nigeria.
