Dr. Aminu Maida’s appointment as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has been approved by the Senate.
The approval came after the presentation of the report by Sen. Bilbis Ikra, the chairman of the Committee on Communication, which was then endorsed by the Committee of the Whole on Thursday.
During the presentation of the report, Sen. Ikra highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s plea for Maida’s confirmation as the NCC Chairman, in accordance with the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) Establishment Act of 2003, Section 8 (1). Ikra also emphasized that Maida had undergone thorough vetting by the committee, possessing the required security clearances, training, work experience, competence, and regulatory ability to contribute to the success of the NCC.
In light of these factors, Sen. Ikra urged the Senate to accept the appointment, resulting in the confirmation of Aminu Maida as the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC.
