Revenue of N566m generated by Nigerian cinema in April

The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) announced on Thursday that it achieved a revenue of N566 million from ticket sales nationwide in April.

Mr. Opeyemi Ajayi, the National Chairman of CEAN, shared this information in a statement provided to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

Ajayi highlighted a noticeable increase in revenue for April compared to March. In March, a total revenue of N441 million was generated.

Furthermore, Ajayi reported that the number of cinema visitors also saw a significant rise. In April, there were 220,781 viewers who visited the cinemas, whereas in March, the count was 174,071 viewers.

CEAN has witnessed an increase in sales again in the month of April. We were able to generate N566,755,146 in April, with 220,781 visitors admission into cinemas nationwide.

“The movies that were showcased in April were: Domitilla, John Wick, Super Mario Boss, Honey money and The Bloom boys.

“For May, cinema lovers can continue to watch out for: Guardians of the Galaxy, Tue bride price, Love again, Fast X and Little Mermaid,” he said. (NAN)
