Police Recover Body of Barrister Chris Agidy, Aide Abducted by Ned Nwoko

Barrister Chris Agidy, the Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North, has tragically been killed after being kidnapped by bandits in 2023.

The confirmation of Agidy’s death was provided by SP Josephine Adeh, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, during an interview with DAILY POST on Tuesday.

Earlier in November 2023, a group of gunmen abducted at least 19 individuals from their homes in the Galadimawa area of the nation’s capital. Reports had previously indicated that 12 of the abductees had lost their lives, but their identities remained unclear as efforts were underway by the lawmaker and security operatives to secure their release.

SP Josephine Adeh, while confirming the killing, revealed that the lawmaker’s aide was murdered by Samaila Wakili, one of the notorious kidnappers who has been terrorizing the capital city. Wakili was apprehended by police operatives on February 24 in the Sardauna Forest, located in the Toto area of Nasarawa State.

Following his arrest, Wakili provided information to the police that led them to the location where the remains of Barrister Chris Agidy were found. The body has been recovered and deposited at the Gwagwalada General Hospital.

This tragic incident highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by the country and the devastating consequences it can have on individuals and their families. The authorities continue their efforts to combat kidnapping and ensure the safety of citizens.
