Olamide Responds to Portable’s Interview on Grammys and Dream Collaboration in New Video

Nigerian singer Olamide has responded to a viral video featuring Portable talking about his aspiration to receive the prestigious international music award, the Grammy. In the interview with media personality Timi Agbaje, Portable stated that winning a Grammy is his ultimate goal for his music career.
Portable mentioned that the highlight of his career would be receiving the award for “Best African Artist” at the Grammy Awards.
Speaking in Pidgin English during the interview, the interviewer asked him, “Wetin be thing wey you go like achieve for your life.“
Portable then replied, “Make I no lie you, na to collect grammy, yes na. Best artiste for Africa, number one, that Ika of Africa, that Ika of Africa I must collect that award, if I collect that award, international oh, no be all those local awards, no be all those industry awards, you know say them get caucus.”
After parts of the interview gained popularity online, Olamide, the head of the YBNL record label, shared his thoughts on Twitter.
Olamide, via his Twitter handle, said he loved the interview and referenced Portable’s catchy slang in the interview, “You dey whine?”
