In a statement issued by Okechukwu Isiguzoro, a chieftain of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo sociocultural organization, President Bola Tinubu has been urged to promptly seek the involvement of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Oby Ezekwesili, former Education Minister, and Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, to find a lasting solution to Nigeria’s economic challenges.

Isiguzoro emphasized that the success of Tinubu’s administration hinges on his consultation with these renowned economists. He further called for a comprehensive overhaul of Tinubu’s economic team, citing their lack of innovative ideas, competence, and determination to navigate the country’s economy out of its current difficulties.

The statement from Isiguzoro stated, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo firmly asserts that seeking assistance from esteemed economists such as Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, and other highly reputable experts, based solely on merit and not tribal or regional considerations, is crucial in rectifying the economy and providing viable solutions for Nigeria’s well-being.”

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo factional Secretary-General advised President Tinubu to engage in concrete and genuine consultations with these globally recognized economists, leveraging their expertise to develop a tangible and swift roadmap for Nigeria’s economic recovery, while simultaneously reducing the burden of governance costs.

The urgent need to address the prevailing economic hardships faced by the nation was underscored, with Ohanaeze Ndigbo imploring President Tinubu to heed their counsel and take the necessary steps to secure a prosperous future for all Nigerians.
