The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast predicting three days of weather conditions in Nigeria.
From Saturday to Monday, sunlight and dust haze are expected across the country.
According to the forecast released on Thursday in Abuja, moderate dust haze is anticipated on Friday, with horizontal visibility ranging from 2Km to 5Km over the North and North Central States. However, localized areas in Yobe, Borno, Jigawa, and Kano States may experience reduced visibility of less than or equal to 1,000m.
During the morning hours, patches of clouds with sunny skies are predicted over the inland states of the South, while the coastal regions are expected to have a cloudy atmosphere. Later in the day, the inland states may experience sunny skies with patches of clouds, and there is a chance of localized thunderstorms over parts of Edo, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Cross River, and Rivers States.
On Saturday, significant dust haze is projected across the northern states throughout the forecast period. The north-central area of the country is expected to have moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility ranging from 2Km to 5Km.
Across the southern inland states, clear skies with patches of cloud are forecasted, while the coastal regions will experience a cloudy atmosphere during the early hours of the forecast period. The interior states can expect bright and hazy conditions, with a possibility of localized thunderstorms over parts of Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa states later in the day.
