Nigeria's Greatness Restored: Speaker Abbas Marks Anniversary

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, expressed his belief in Nigeria’s future greatness as the country celebrated its 63rd Independence Anniversary on Sunday.

In a statement released on Saturday by Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, it was emphasized that despite the prevailing economic challenges, the Speaker remained optimistic.

Encouraging his fellow citizens to maintain hope and resilience, the Speaker dismissed the predictions of doomsayers and pessimists, assuring that their negativity would ultimately prove unfounded. Despite the prevailing issues such as inflation, a weakening currency, and energy crises, the Speaker affirmed his confidence in Nigeria’s ability to overcome these challenges and regain its greatness.

Furthermore, Speaker Abbas called upon the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to reconsider their plan for an indefinite nationwide strike scheduled to commence on Tuesday. He emphasized that such a strike would not benefit the country and would only exacerbate the situation at hand. Instead, he urged the organized labor unions to engage in constructive dialogue with the Federal Government, expressing his belief in an amicable resolution of all outstanding issues.

In summary, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen expressed his unwavering belief in Nigeria’s potential for greatness, calling for unity, perseverance, and dialogue to address the country’s challenges and ensure a prosperous future.
