Nigerian Teenager, 17, Achieves Guinness World Record for One-Foot Skipping

Solomon’s extraordinary skills and unwavering determination were on display on January 24 when he accomplished a remarkable feat of completing an astounding 153 skips on a single foot within a mere 30 seconds. This remarkable achievement surpassed the previous record of 145 skips held by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh.

After undergoing a meticulous four-month verification process, Solomon’s exceptional accomplishment was officially recognized and announced on Tuesday, earning him a well-deserved place in the prestigious Guinness World Records.

According to the Guinness World Records website, Solomon drew inspiration from watching a video of the previous record holder, Rasel Islam, which fueled his dedication to training relentlessly and achieving this extraordinary record. Notably, Solomon also had the privilege of participating in a skipping world championship during his pursuit of this remarkable feat.

Following in the footsteps of his fellow student, Gbenga Ezekiel from Ijapo High School in Akure, Solomon, who attends the same school, has further contributed to Nigeria’s collection of Guinness World Records in the realm of rope skipping.

In February, Ezekiel achieved an impressive world record by completing the highest number of skips on one leg in one minute, accomplishing a staggering total of 265 skips. This outstanding feat served as a source of motivation for Solomon, a senior secondary school three student, as he embarked on his own journey towards breaking a record.
