Nigerian Government Installs E-Gates at Abuja's Nnamdi Azikiwe Int'l Airport

The Nigerian federal government has commenced the installation of E-Gates at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, located in the Federal Capital Territory.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, shared this update on his official X account after inspecting the ongoing installation work at the airport on Monday.

The E-Gates facility will be implemented at all five of Nigeria’s international airports, according to Tunji-Ojo.

“I took a tour of ongoing projects today. First, the E-Gates facility is currently being installed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja,” he stated.

Tunji-Ojo also mentioned that he assessed the progress of the E-Border data and control center at the headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service, which aims to improve national security.

It is worth noting that in November of last year, the minister announced plans to deploy E-Gates at the country’s international airports by February 2024.
