Mohammed Umaru Bago, the Governor of Niger State, has expressed his condolences to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) state council on the demise of Comrade Yahaya Idris Ndako, its former chairman.

The governor attended the funeral prayers of the late state labour leader in Minna, describing his passing as a significant loss for the state due to his contributions to the growth and development of the labor movement.

In a press statement released by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago acknowledged the role played by the late Idris Ndako when he led a screening committee to reform the state civil service. He prayed for God to reward Ndako’s efforts, forgive any shortcomings, and grant him Aljannah Firdausi (the highest level of paradise in Islamic belief).

The governor also offered prayers for the comfort of the deceased’s family, the NLC Niger State Council, and all those who held the late Ndako in high regard. Ndako Idris Sallawu served as the NLC chairman for two terms and was previously the general secretary of the Nigeria Civil Service Union. He had also served as the Coordinator on Labour Affairs to Governor Bago.
