Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended an invitation to the Department of State Services (DSS) to participate in the investigation into the controversial death of singer Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, on September 12, 2023.
The police have already initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s demise.
In a statement shared via his Instagram page, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his commitment to ensuring a thorough investigation and invited the DSS to collaborate with the police in this process. He stated that he is closely monitoring the ongoing investigations and working with relevant authorities.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasised the need to enhance the investigative efforts and widen the scope of the probe. He indicated that inter-agency collaboration and state-of-the-art technology would be employed to uncover the truth regarding Mohbad’s death. He also instructed that anyone found to have played a role in the events leading to the singer’s death should face legal consequences after a comprehensive investigation.
While extending his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, the Governor called upon individuals with crucial information to come forward and assist in the investigation. He assured potential witnesses of maximum protection and urged the police and DSS to provide periodic updates to the public on their investigative progress.
