Senior Pastor of Awaiting the Second Coming of Jesus Christ Ministry, Pastor Adewale Giwa, stated on Wednesday that Naira Marley and Sam Larry should have been declared wanted by the police regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Promise Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad or Imole.
Pastor Giwa mentioned that before the deceased’s demise, he had consistently named the duo, accusing them of tormenting and threatening his life.
Pastor Giwa urged the police to take appropriate action, emphasizing that since the issue emerged last week, Naira Marley and Sam Larry should have presented themselves for investigation if they were truly not involved in the incident. He also called on the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to address the allegations concerning one of its ambassadors who was linked to the situation.
The pastor expressed disapproval of the way Mohbad’s father handled the entire situation, stating that he failed to act as a responsible father when his son needed him most. He pointed out that the father did not intervene when his son was assaulted, and later, after Mohbad’s death, he was primarily concerned with the deceased’s property. Pastor Giwa criticised the father for not raising the alarm when his son was facing difficulties, contributing to his untimely death.
Additionally, Pastor Giwa questioned the police department that received Mohbad’s petition before his death but did not take decisive action. He also called for the withdrawal of ambassadorial status from individuals with questionable character, referring to Naira Marley.
The pastor expressed surprise that former APC leader, Asiwaju Tinubu, had not reacted to Mohbad’s death and called on him to recognise his role as a leader for all Nigerians, not just a political party. He further urged the police to diligently pursue the case, emphasizing the importance of not ignoring or covering up the matter.
