MNJTF: Strong Stance Against Gender-Based Violence

Maj Gen Ibrahim Sallau Ali, the Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), has reaffirmed the task force’s strong stance against gender-based violence in its operations.

During the opening ceremony of a workshop on sexual abuse and gender-based violence in a conflict environment held in N’Djamena, Chad, Gen Ali emphasized the MNJTF’s commitment to upholding human rights and protecting vulnerable populations. The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the dynamics of sexual exploitation and gender-based violence in operational contexts.

The MNJTF has played a significant role in rescuing numerous women and girls from the clutches of terrorists in recent years. Gen Ali expressed gratitude to the African Union Mission Support Team for organizing the training, acknowledging the crucial importance of addressing and preventing gender-based violence within the operational framework.

By taking an unequivocal stance against gender-based violence during operations, the MNJTF demonstrates its dedication to promoting a safe and secure environment for all individuals affected by conflict and instability.
