Man bags life imprisonment for sodomizing 6-year-old pupil in Jigawa

The Jigawa State High Court of Justice sitting in Birnin Kudu has sentenced a 27-year-old Ibrahim Abdullahi to life imprisonment for sodomizing a six-year-old pupil.

Prosecution Counsel, Yahaya Abdullahi, narrated that the incident happened on 12th February, 2021 at Garu Quarters Dutse, Dutse LGA, when a 6-year-old pupil on his way to school was lured by the defendant to his house, and forcefully had anal sex with him.

He said the victim’s teacher, while passing by, saw the victim in an abnormal movement and the defendant was coming out from his room trying to tie his trousers.

He said upon enquiry by the school management, the victim narrated what the defendant did to him.

The defendant was later arrested and the matter was investigated, thereby, the defendant was charged to court for the offence of sodomy.

Both the prosecution counsel and the dependent counsel presented witnesses before the court.

The Presiding Judge, Honourable Justice Musa Ubale, said the offence of sodomy is punishable under section 284 of the penal code cap.P3 Laws of Jigawa state 2012 (as amended).

The Court, while delivering its judgment, held that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt, thereby convicted and sentenced the convict to life imprisonment.
