Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has submitted three additional commissioner nominees to the Ogun House of Assembly for screening.

Under the leadership of Speaker Mr. Olakunle Oluomo, the assembly conducted the screening at the assembly complex in Abeokuta.

The three nominees who underwent the screening process were Mr. Olatunji Odunlami, a former Commissioner in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development; Mr. Wasiu Isiaka, a former Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Ogun Internally Generated Revenue; and Mrs. Funmi Efuwape, the immediate past Commissioner in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

It was reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the state legislature had previously screened and confirmed 17 commissioner nominees who are yet to be sworn in by the governor.

During the screening, the speaker urged the nominees to demonstrate unwavering commitment to providing quality service and to avoid any actions that could hinder the progress and development of the state if they are confirmed.

The lawmakers, in their respective contributions, encouraged the nominees to introspect and devise plans and programs that would have a positive impact on the people of the state. They called on the nominees to redouble their efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy across the state.

In response, the nominees pledged to build upon their achievements from their previous terms if confirmed. They assured that they would continue to collaborate with the state legislature and other relevant stakeholders to implement policies and programs for the development of the state.
