Last weekend, Omowumi Dada added another feather to her cap when she clinched the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, the actress maintained that though she feels fulfilled, she is still not satisfied with where she is in her career. She said, “It was not easy but it is worth it. I literally started from the bottom— from studying at the University of Lagos and going for every audition I heard about. However, I thank God for the journey. Although I am not where I want to be, I am definitely not where I used to be.”

On if she is fulfilled as a thespian, Dada said, “Doing what I love to do daily makes me fulfilled. But, have I got to the final dose of fulfillment? I want to do greater things—play bigger, stressful and more adventurous characters. I also want to be in more internationally acclaimed films. I am hungry for more. I am not satisfied but I am fulfilled.”

Shooting (a movie) for cinemas is different from shooting it for TV. And, it is definitely different from shooting a TV series. There are different contents for different audiences. The techniques are also different. One cannot shoot a TV series and expect that when it goes to the cinema, it would be fantastic. It is advisable that from the moment one starts shooting a film, one should know exactly where one wants to take it to.”
