How Did Mohbad Die?
News suggests that a serious ear infection led to Mohbad’s unexpected passing. Individuals close to the singer shared that on the morning of September 12, Mohbad went for medical help and got an injection as part of the process.
They further detailed that Mohbad entered the hospital because of injuries and tragically, he “fell into unconsciousness and never came around.”
Further information indicates that the singer fell victim to a condition called Otitis, a middle ear infection. This ailment results in notable inflammation, redness, and a buildup of fluid behind the eardrum.
Recalling When Bella Shmurda Said Mohbad Once Committed Suicide
In a chat with famed broadcaster Chude Jideonwo, fellow artist Bella Shmurda, who was close to the late Mohbad, revealed that Mohbad had once struggled with thoughts of ending his life. His friends, thankfully, stepped in.
Bella recalled an instance, saying,
“Mohbad once voiced a wish to leap from a high floor in a flat we were in, due to issues with his music label. We kept him away from the window just in time. His girlfriend arrived to find him sitting near the window.”

Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as MohBad, was a celebrated Nigerian talent, showcasing skills as a rapper, vocalist, and lyricist.

The Origins of Mohbad and Naira Marley’s Dispute
On October 25, 2022, Mohbad’s team announced his departure from Naira Marley’s music label. His legal representatives claimed his departure was due to continuous alleged harassment by Naira Marley and unpaid earnings since 2019.
Weeks prior to this, Mohbad shared on Twitter about a violent encounter with the Marlian crew, saying it occurred after he expressed a desire to change his manager.
“After expressing my wish to switch my manager, see their actions at Marlian House,” he tweeted, adding, “World, I’m in distress.”
He indicated undergoing a CT scan and a chest X-ray following the incident, clarifying, “I’m sober. They often downplay situations.”
Mohbad blamed Naira Marley for witnessing the attack and not intervening.
Additionally, he held Marlian Music responsible for withholding his agreed earnings.
According to the statement, “Despite our agreement, you’ve not provided any upfront payment since 2019; nor have you settled royalties for the monetized work from 2019 to now.”
