Governor Inuwa Yahaya Expresses Condolences Over the Passing of Elder Statesman Jibril Dukku

The passing of Alhaji Jibril Halilu Dukku, an esteemed elder statesman and renowned administrator, has deeply saddened Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya. Alhaji Dukku, who was 91 years old, passed away in Gombe on Friday.

In a statement issued by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director-General of Press Affairs at the Government House in Gombe, Governor Yahaya expressed his condolences and highlighted Alhaji Dukku’s notable achievements as an administrator, educationist, and humanitarian.

The governor acknowledged the indelible impact that Alhaji Dukku made in Gombe State and beyond throughout his illustrious career and retirement. He emphasized that the late elder statesman’s legacy will endure through his numerous accomplishments and the positive influence he had on the lives of others.

Governor Yahaya described Alhaji Dukku’s passing as the end of an era marked by exceptional service, wisdom, devotion, and commitment to the advancement of the people, community, and nation as a whole. The governor expressed the deep loss felt by Gombe State, recognizing Alhaji Dukku as a distinguished and highly respected figure who served with distinction and left behind a legacy of honor and dignity.

Governor Yahaya extended his heartfelt condolences to Rt. Hon. Aishatu Jibril Dukku, the daughter of the deceased, and the entire family. Alhaji Dukku is survived by two wives and several children, including Hon. Aishatu Jibril Dukku, a former member of the House of Representatives, and Professor Sani Jibril Dukku, an academic at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi.

To pay his respects, Governor Inuwa Yahaya sent a delegation led by Deputy Governor Manassah Daniel Jatau to attend the funeral prayer, which took place at the Emir’s Palace in Gombe.
