Major-General Chris Alli, who served as the Chief of Army Staff from 1993 to 1994, has passed away.
President Bola Tinubu expressed his condolences in a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, describing the death as a significant loss.
President Tinubu extended his sympathies to the Alli family and the Nigerian Army, acknowledging the deceased’s faithful service to the country.
“I offer my condolences to the Alli family and the Nigerian Army on the sad loss of the former Chief of Army Staff. He served his country with honor and retired with distinction. May God rest his soul and grant his family the strength to cope with this immense loss,” said President Tinubu.
Major-General Alli had previously held important positions within the Nigerian Army, including Director of Military Intelligence (DMI), before being appointed as the Chief of Army Staff.
