Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has sternly cautioned that no one should take his son’s body for burial without his explicit permission.
It is recalled that singer Bella Shmurda and actress Tonto Dikeh had urged the police to release Mohbad’s body to allow for a “befitting burial,” as the delay in the autopsy results caused concern.
However, in a video message shared on his TikTok page on Sunday, Mohbad’s father emphasized that his approval was necessary before anyone could collect his late son’s body. He emphasized that even in death, Mohbad remained his son.
He stated, “While this boy was alive, he was alive. Even in death, he retained my name. Please, nobody should go there and take his body. If they want to do anything concerning him, I will be the one to authorize it. No one should go and remove Mohbad’s body from there.”
Mohbad passed away under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. However, his body was later exhumed for an autopsy after public outcry demanded a thorough investigation into his sudden death.
After the autopsy was conducted, the police took custody of his body and deposited it in the morgue.
