The Enugu State House of Assembly successfully passed a supplementary budget of N58,095,482,293, which had been presented by Governor Peter Mbah.

During the deliberation, Iloabuchi Aniagu, the Minority leader of the Assembly, expressed the view that this supplementary budget would provide the new government with the necessary funds to initiate and execute various capital and developmental projects.

In response, Deputy Speaker Ezenta Ezeani clarified that the N58 billion supplementary budget was essentially an extension of the 2023 budget and therefore did not account for any new projects currently under consideration.

He further explained that any new projects would be incorporated into the 2024 budget, which the governor was expected to present soon.
