During the opening of the faculty of law at a private university in Kano, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, took the opportunity to express his concerns to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.

He urged her to convey the message to President Bola Tinubu about the prevailing hunger and starvation in the country.

Emir Bayero acknowledged that there are various channels for communicating government needs and requests, but he believed that Tinubu’s direct influence would be the most effective way to bring the actual situation to the President’s attention. He emphasized that while hunger and starvation existed prior to the current government, the situation has reached an alarming level and requires urgent attention.

The Emir also urged Tinubu to address the pressing issue of insecurity. Acknowledging that the government inherited this challenge, he stressed the need for more concerted efforts to tackle the threats and ensure the safety of the people.

Additionally, Emir Bayero raised concerns about the relocation of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and certain departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Lagos. He highlighted that the people of Kano have been sending messages regarding this matter and called for transparent communication from the government to clarify the intentions behind the relocation. He emphasized the need for effective public enlightenment to ensure that Nigerians understand the reasons and implications of such decisions.
