General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has issued a call to Muslims across the country, urging them to offer prayers for the peace and progress of Nigeria.
He made this appeal while reaffirming the military’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace in various regions of the nation.
This message was conveyed in a statement released on Wednesday by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Director of Defence Information. General Musa expressed optimism that with the support of Nigerians, the prevailing insecurity in the country can be overcome.
The statement quoted General Musa as follows: “The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, heartily greets members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria as we celebrate Eid-El-Maulud. It is an opportunity to thank the Almighty Allah for His blessings, protection, and guidance, especially as He continues to protect us through these difficult and challenging times.”
As an integral part of society, the Armed Forces of Nigeria is committed to promoting peace and stability within our country. General Musa urged all Muslims to fervently pray to Almighty Allah for the peace and progress of Nigeria, extending his wishes for a joyful and peaceful celebration.
He also encouraged military personnel to pray for the unity of the nation, emphasizing the importance of imbibing the virtues of the Holy Prophet Mohammed during this year’s Eid-El-Maulud celebration.
General Musa concluded by reaffirming the military’s loyalty to the President and the constitution of Nigeria, pledging their unwavering support for the constitutional democracy under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
