Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State recently clarified that he bears no personal grudge against his deputy, Philip Shaibu.
Obaseki emphasized that the matter concerning Shaibu is quite straightforward. He made these remarks during a press conference on Friday, where he elaborated, saying, “I have no personal grievances against the Deputy Governor, and I never have. To me, the issues are very clear.”
The ongoing dispute between Obaseki and Shaibu revolves around the choice of Obaseki’s successor. Amidst this conflict, Philip Shaibu publicly extended his apologies to Governor Obaseki. The governor accepted this public apology, underscoring that his deputy’s actions had personally discomforted him.
