The Ebonyi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru, has taken proactive measures to address security concerns and mitigate challenges affecting flight and airport operations at the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport in Onueke, Ezza South LGA.

The Commissioner of Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs Ngozi Obichukwu, conveyed this during a press briefing in Abakaliki following a six-day sensitization program for airport security personnel and staff.

Mrs Obichukwu explained that the primary aim of the sensitization was to enhance the security framework surrounding the airport and its vicinity, effectively combating issues that impede flight and airport operations. The government’s priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of both travelers and airline operators within the state.

In response to these efforts, Nnanna Nwangele, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Airport Security, affirmed the commitment to safeguarding the lives and assets of travelers and airline operators. He emphasized that Ebonyi State is notably one of the safest states in the southeast region, assuring a secure environment for all stakeholders involved in aviation activities.
