The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed allegations of embezzlement regarding a subsidy grant meant for its staff members, refuting claims made against its Director General, Yusuf Bichi.

Peter Afunanya, the Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications for the DSS, clarified that no such grant had been allocated to the agency.

He assured that once the grant becomes available, it would be distributed to the personnel accordingly.

Afunanya’s statement was issued in response to allegations made by a user named @jacksonpbn, who accused Bichi of corruption and claimed that the Director General had awarded himself a “goodbye allowance” which, according to Afunanya, does not exist.

The DSS categorically denied the allegations, stating that they are entirely false. The agency emphasized that neither the Director General nor anyone acting on his behalf has misappropriated any staff subsidy grant. The statement further clarified that no such grant has been provided to the DSS, but once it is allocated, the staff members will receive their rightful entitlements as usual.
