Afrobeats sensation, Davido, has disclosed the intriguing story of how he first crossed paths with his now-wife, Chioma Rowland, during their time in university.

Both Davido and Chioma attended Babcock University, with Davido pursuing a degree in Music and Chioma studying Economics.

During an interview with YouTuber and vlogger, Tayo Aina, Davido candidly shared the details of how he made his initial advances towards Chioma.

In his account, he mentioned that he had approached Chioma in his first year at the university, attempting to win her over with his celebrity status. However, despite his fame, Chioma turned down his advances.

Davido went on to narrate an interesting twist in their story, describing how he sent his personal assistant to invite Chioma to meet him. To his surprise, she declined the invitation. However, fate intervened, and the pair eventually crossed paths in Lagos, leading to a more intense connection between them.

He said,

“I was in school for a year before I blew up. That was when I met my wife. I remember the day I saw her. I can never forget

I was in a Prado, And I looked behind and I saw this girl walking. Just there with her bag, it was Chioma.

I told Lat (Davido’s PA) omo I like that girl, Go and call that girl for me.

He called her but she did not answer me at the time.

Later on, she came to Lagos and we linked up. And I was like, Yeah, I got you.”
