Basketball: Angola beat Nigeria’s D’Tigers in FIBA W’CUP qualifiers

Nigeria’s national men’s basketball team, D’Tigers have suffered another defeat in a 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifier after they lost 67-70 to Angola in their Group E match.

The match was played at Palais des Sports de Treichville on Sunday, August 28. 

D’Tigers had started the fourth window of qualification with a loss to hosts Ivory Coast in Abidjan. But bounced back with a win against Guinea to set up a final game in this window against Angola which they lost  67-70

In the next window of FIBA World Cup qualifiers, Nigeria will take on Ivory Coast on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Sixteen African teams are competing in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 African Qualifiers through five tournament windows over 15 months. The qualifiers will see five African national teams earn a spot in the FIBA Basketball World Cup that is scheduled to take place from August 25 to September 10, 2023, in Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
