Bakare Zainab queries about receiving money sent via Itele, as she recalls her final encounter with Gbemi Anjola

Bakare Zainab, a popular Nollywood actress, has shared details of her final encounter with her colleague, Gbemi Anjola. According to a report by VistaNaij Media, Gbemi, a rising star in the industry, passed away on Friday, the 24th of March, 2023, after a prolonged battle with ovarian cancer. She had been diagnosed with the illness in 2021 and had undergone chemotherapy in Dubai for six months.

After receiving treatment in Dubai, Gbemi returned to Nigeria, cancer-free. However, on the 25th of March, 2023, she complained of memory loss and a headache and was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead.

The tragic news was shared on Instagram by Gbemi’s colleagues, Itele and Zainab Balogun, who mourned her passing. In her own tribute, Bakare Zainab recounted the last time she spent with Gbemi. She recalled praying with her and how Gbemi had promised to stay strong for her, even consoling Bakare and encouraging her to be strong as well.

Bakare reminisced on the promises they had made, the photoshoots they had planned, and more. However, in the midst of her grief, she also raised a practical concern. She questioned what would happen to the large sum of money that their male colleague, Ibrahim Yekini (also known as Itele), had sent to Gbemi. The details surrounding this money transfer were not specified.

“My Own GBEMI is sleeping. She said we will talk later. AKINGBEMISOLA. Remember how we prayed together. Remember How I said you were God’s favorite.
