The Chairman of Kogi Local Government Traditional Council, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Gambo Isa Koto, also known as Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfi, has been queried by the Kogi State Government for his alleged involvement in partisan politics during the recently conducted gubernatorial election in the state.

The query was issued in a letter signed by Barr. Salami Momodu Ozigi Deedat, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The letter expressed serious concern over the deliberate engagement of the monarch in partisan politics. It highlighted that his actions, role, and participation in partisan politics had endangered the security of his domain, resulting in a crisis that led to the tragic death of an innocent young lady and numerous others sustaining injuries.

The letter emphasized that such actions contradicted the expected role of a revered royal father. It further expressed dismay that the monarch appeared unaffected while the peace and security of the state were being threatened by his actions.

As a consequence, the monarch was requested to provide a written explanation within 48 hours as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against him. The State Government also indicated the possibility of requiring oral explanations when a panel is set up to investigate the matter.

The monarch was advised to give utmost attention to the contents of the letter.
