Alaafin’s wife dies two months after monarch joined ancestors

Olori Kafayat Adeyemi, one of the widows of the immediate past Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi is dead.

The demise of Queen Kafayat Adeyemi is coming two months after the monarch joined his ancestors.

It could be recalled that Oba Adeyemi, the 45th Alaafin of Oyo, died on Friday 22nd April this year.

The monarch, who died at the age of 83, reigned for 52 years.

Unconfirmed reports say that the monarch was survived by about eighteen wives.

It was learnt that the widow died on Friday in the United States of America.

The Director of Media and Publicity at the palace of the Alaafin, Mr Bode Durojaye, confirmed the death of the deceased on Saturday.
