Aguiyi-Ironsi's Daughter Laid to Rest in Umuahia

On Saturday, emotions ran high as the funeral ceremony for Lady Caroline Aguiyi-Ironsi, the daughter of former Nigerian Head of State, General Thomas Umunnankwe Aguiyi-Ironsi, took place in Umuana village, Ndume Ibeku, located in the Umuahia North local government area of Abia State.

Lady Caroline, aged 68 at the time of her passing, was widely respected in the community for her acts of kindness towards others and her advocacy for the welfare of ordinary people.

During the service, Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, conveyed his condolences and paid tribute to the late Lady Caroline Aguiyi-Ironsi. Governor Otti described her as a woman of great character, possessing a heart filled with genuine compassion and goodness.

Representing the governor at the event, Deputy Governor Ikechuckwu Emetu expressed that Lady Caroline was known for her caring nature and her ability to positively impact the lives of numerous individuals through her warmth and benevolence.

Governor Otti encouraged the family to remain resilient and focus on the positive aspects of life, honoring the legacy of love and generosity that Lady Caroline exemplified.

In response, Thomas Aguiyi Ironsi, former Minister of Defence and son of the late General Aguiyi-Ironsi, expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for his support during this challenging time. He offered prayers for the governor’s wisdom and good health as he continues to implement various programs and initiatives in the state.
